Threadless

I just ordered some new Tees from Threadless. My sister introduced me to it - she is obsessed. I'm not usually the type of person who wears printed Tees, but I found a very select few that I know will make me feel like the cool kid on the block. I have a few ideas and outfit plans for these....I hope - I'm too tired to remember them right now.

They have a $15 discount on all purchases over $50 for another week! Get to it

Shake it like a Polariod Picture

No need! Today I downloaded a new app for my HTC Desire: FXCamera. I think I found my new favourite thing. Along with many other settings, I can take Polariod style shots and I'm absolutely stoked. With Polariod lense, anyone can be a Photographer.

Tuesday

Tuesday. Home alone tonight. I cooked! I also bought a block of Marble chocolate to mourn the final pages of the book I've been reading - Eat, Pray, Love - Best god damn book I have ever read, hands down (I don't read much) I am so captivated by whats going on that I want to curl up in bed and finish the book right now but at the same time I want to savour it - Drag it out a couple more days.
If you haven't heard about this book yet, we aren't living on the same planet, clearly. If you haven't read this book yet, you're obviously illiterate. Sucks to be you.

They are making it into a movie. It will be out soon enough, but do yourself a favour, read the book first, seriously.

I think when I finish the book, I will just turn right back to page one.

love? Cosmic Love

Oh, Ms Welch, you melt me. On this rainy, rainy day - when my room becomes a clothes line - how can you make everything seem so spectacular?

Florence Welch, you are a magnificent being.

Valentino Sunday

Beautiful day today

I met up with my friend Jess and her younger sister Em, to go see the Valentino exhibition at GoMA today. It was absolutely beautiful, totally amazing and completely mind-filling. It's hard to get a great view of all the clothes with so many people there (young, old, male and female) and everyone slowly pushing you to the next dress every 30 seconds. I left with the inability to look at anything else - such drab.
We took a quick look around the gift store for the exhibit. Jess and I both bought a copy of the Valentino book (special to the exhibit - $75) and I spotted a copy of one of Yvan Rodic's books from his Face Hunter Blog. The now reside with me.

We walked over the bridge into the city and got some lunch outside Town Hall. On our way to the train station Jess thought it would be a good idea to get some Krispy Kreme - No objections here!

I came home and ate my donuts with a nice little cup of Green Mint Tea - Looking at clothes all day is exhausting.

Art Shmart

Aren't these drawings (unconventionally) great? (from here) I could do this!

Isn't is amazing how, to be considered an artist you used to have to be able to draw and produce inexplicably amazing pictures and now, this is all it takes? You can be plain old Sally Somebody and just draw what you eat. Don't get the wrong idea here, I really do enjoy these and am so glad that the art scene/society has 'lowered its standards' so to speak, to be able to consider the drawer of these images, an Artist (She actually is a really great artist, though).
True comradery *
*I don't know if this is the right sentiment

Does this mean I can call myself an artist too?

My humble interpretation of the ordinary office telephone - I won't be expecting the term 'Artist' anytime soon.

IKEA

God, Don't you just LOVE Ikea!? I sure as heck do. Everything about it - The names, the style, the smell (weird, I know), the Swedish meatballs in the cafeteria, picking out the furniture, the prices (!) and bringing the boxes home ready to assemble.

I only decided on Friday night that I wanted a new desk and Ikea was the obvious thing to Google. I found one almost straight away and it was the perfect size to fit into my little corner (and the perfect price, too). By Saturday afternoon it was in my room...in pieces. It took all my strength to assemble the bloody thing, but that's my favourite part - Not only did I buy the desk, I assembled the shit out of it! (except for one minor mix up which delayed me about 10 minutes - running around the house, "WHERE ARE THE PLIERS?")

Dangerous place that Ikea. If I went in there with a full pay cheque ...well, who knows what I would come out with - It sure as hell wouldn't be that pay cheque.

SMÃ…DAL!

New Ikea cushion that I have been eyeing for about 5 months. Mine at last!

Me&Megan

I read an article in the latest issue of Frankie this week about a couple from Sydney who are "stirring things up", I guess you could say. Megan is living in Ethiopia for a year volunteering while Jason is in Sydney (12,653km apart) - They are still trying to keep the relationship alive by video blogging to each other. At the end of the year (whatever the status of their relationship) all the videos will be turned into a feature length Documentary. I watched all the webisodes today and I was so moved by them - I was crying by the third video! They don't have an official website but you can see all their videos on their Facebook page here.

Here is the First Video/Intro to what Me&Megan is all about -

Club Kids/Party Monster

Have you seen the Club Kids? There are definitely something else. I recently watched the movie Party Monster with my sister and felt I had to share their 'Beauty' with you. Party Monster was originally a book written by James St. James (one of the original Club Kids).

Real footage of the Club Kids on Joan Rivers (Quality gets better half way through)

Sleepy Sunday

Another gorgeous faux winter day. Mchandsomepants and I went to the Rocklea markets today to visit my sister who was selling some of her hoards of stuff. We took a little walk around -

My new jewellery box from Siam - $12

On our way out I couldn't walk past all of the flowers. Aren't these AMAZING!? I will sleep well tonight with these perched on my bedside table :)
